Oh and another thing.. my friend John (jyanji) asked me to be his Best man. He's marrying my friend Colleen, whom he met incidentally, at my birthday party in St. Helen's in 2008. I'm totally stoked for him and excited that they're getting married. They're really good peeps.
I'm flattered that John thinks so highly of me. I'm truly flattered. Honestly, I'm also very frightened that I'll let him down in my role as Best man. I've been a Best Man a total of 2 times. The first time was at my friend/ co-worker Nicole and Jeremy's wedding. I was a last minute Best man as his original best man couldn't make the wedding. I found the experience to be pretty easy... all I had to do was toast the Bride and Groom. The second time, Guillermo asked me. He's one of my bestest and oldest buddies. He and I go way back - familia - you may say. And, I felt that I was an epic fail was a Best man. I wasn't able to stay out w/ the boys during his bachelor party. We didn't stay at the bed and breakfast to party the night away on his wedding. I felt like I wasn't fulfilling my role as a Best Man (ensuring everything was smoothed over and taken care of before, during, and after the wedding to lessen the stress on Guillermo). I won't make any excuses, or sling mud.. it's done and over with... Juggling parental, husbandry, and best man duties at that time was very difficult - that's all I have to say.
