ah....regatta's....THEY SUCK..
SO this week we were in Cincinnati. on the way there the weather was scary. we got there around 7:15ish. they originally told us to go directly to the regatta site and get the boats ready. we drove down there...it took FOREVER...we found it but no one was there and we called people who said they were just getting to the hotel and other ppl. were going out to eat. when we finally got back to the hotel the wind had picked up a lot and the so did the rain. there was lighting and thunder and all that stuff. some of the varsity was going down to get boats ready but i stayed at the hotel, i guess they didn't actually get anything ready. my room was on the third floor, there were ash trays every where even though we asked for non-smoking and to cover up the smell they sprayed this nasty stuff all over. it smelled really bad. mom and dad complained, i guess, about the smell so someone came up and sprayed the same gross crap. in their room there was this gross dirty sock hanging up and it was funny because in the letter i wrote to them i added that the sock did not belong to us. i also commented on the smell and filthy condition of the room. there were holes in the celing of their bathroom and they could here the people above them talking. we went to bed around midnight because the all night bar blared crappy country music continuously. the outside of the hotel was actually outside..NO WALLS...it was so scary walking in the wind and rain becasue it was dark and there were all these open doors that you had to walk by and you couldn't see under the stairs and the doors didn't close all the way. there was one guy on the first floor with his door stuck open watchign tv in his underwear. i can still see it when i close my eyes!!! when we got there in the morning it was poring down rain and really windy. the water was gorgeous though. except for all the white caps....we would have been so close to the river. and i would have been in a four person boat AND a eight person boat..which i really didn't want to be a four....not yet...they are really hard to set and they flip over easily, i didn't want to be in one yet because i have never practiced in one before. there was a giant tent set up where the officials and the coaches were, they made all the rowers and stuff leave because it wasn't safe....fun...
i have to go shower now becaue i smell like a sleezy hotel.
