family secrets should be exposed at random
so i went home this weekend and got hammered with the parentals and their friends and had a bomb dropped on me. my dad likes to tell me family secrets when hes wasted. it funny most of the time. but this weekend was weird. we were in the living room with a family friend and theyre having a conversation and im just kind of listening in. well all of a sudden my dad tells this guy that he has a son whos 35. i have a half brother. whom ive never met. ok.
apparently he was born when my dad was 16. the girl moved away while pregnant and didnt tell my dad until she met him again around 3 years later, when my dad was finishing high school and was engaged to his first, fiance i think, i dont think they got married. basically the idea i get is that she thought we was going to drop it all and come play house with her. obviously that didnt happen and now there is no contact whatsoever. last dad knew, they were living in indiana.
im so blown away by it. haha. i dont even know what to say. theres still a million questions. i dont know. i just had to say it.
