west end tour

Oct 16, 2005 17:45

so i had to go on a tour of the west end in boston for my growth and decline of cities and suburbs class. i had to start on the north slope of beacon hill and ended up by north station after a round about walk of about 2 miles or so (took about two hours so maybe it was longer i dont know).

the north slope of beacon hill is absolutely amazing. its got these really narrow one-way streets with all these beautiful old buildings. the windows have flower boxes and the cast iron fences and fire escapes are not just for utility, theyre works of art. the old copper, all green and pretty next to the old brick. its heaven. i want to move there because ive decided that basically everywhere else is just gross in this city. louisburg square is like something out of a book. you can almost see the horses and buggies and women in pretty dresses and men with top hats. id love to go back after a snowfall and see it all. im dying to know what the rent for an apartment in the area would be, because if i could swing it, i would. its full of quaint little markets and shops, old schools are now apartments, the streets are clean, and the people are neat. i think ill avoid my cults and sects paper a little longer and look up apartments online in the beacon hill area. just so i can know for certain that im too poor to live there. hahaha.

ps. my toe is healing. finally. thats always good.

pps. im really homesick.

ppps. i dont think andys going to come next weekend. big surprise there. no one ever comes to see me. im seriously going to learn soon to stop inviting people to come. it makes me hope they will and they really have no intention of it.
