This morning feels really good. I started working yesterday on a simple dress made out of an old sheet and two pillow cases. Today i am steaming open seams, pinning stuff together, sewing. Let me tell you, i have fucked up several times already on this dress, i don't know what i am doing, i don't even know if it will work out right and fit me when i am done...but i really don't care. I will be a little disappointed if i can't wear it when i am done, but it feels so good to be working on something.
I've really never had that great of sewing skills...i can make a crap ton of things out of knit fabric, but the stretchiness of the fabric is more forgiving and hides mistakes really easily. If this dress turns out ugly as hell i won't really be so surprised. I just need the practice, and i am really enjoying working on something. I'm not so good at planning (ha, neither with microcosmic details such as sewing projects nor the macrocosmic greater scheme of things and how to plan my life so it falls comfortably into that) and i think this project may suffer for that. Its too bad, but it feels therapeutic. If it just so happens to work and fit too, then there's an added benefit to it. :3
