ahem...besides that, nothing much else interesting going on. interims should be out this coming week...ahm...I'm prolly getting a webcam late saturday afternoon, too. I wonder if shane has one. i miss him. i think he'll be down here to visit soon, though.
ahh...megacon. pretty fun. joseph, kalin, and i will probably be going the whole three days next year and we're bringing nick and justin, too. the bunch of us spent most of our time at the noob-flailing-foam-sword-ring-of-randomness/doom, though. fighting complete amateurs is horrendously difficult and extremely annoying to joseph and i due a bit to our immaturity (we won't realize the fact that this is just for fun)
hm...we were only allowed to borrow short sword about the length of my hand and forearm. that put us at a disadvantage to the longswords and spears, but made things interesting. the two of us did pretty well, especially on the 2v2 tournaments but the spears always won over us in the end.
then came the really big grand tournament at the end of the day which were only 1on1 battles. with just the short sword i made it to final 5 and then had to go up against a tall fellow with a spear. i lost but managed 2 kills against him and got a very nice reaction from the crowd. lala, many hands to shake even after i got killed but it was a close fight even with the handicaps. i let myself beam for a bit hehe
what really got me was a trio of black chaps with absolutely no sense of humility at all...the only things they allowed themselves to use were their spears that they stabbed their opponents with from afar or dual wielding swords which were flailed around for maximum dramatic effect. now most of the others did the same but atleast the others had the sportsmanship and respect to acknowledge each other and smile a bit instead of just smirk and turn their backs after a fight. few people piss me off as much as asiaphiles.
eh, my glasses were broken after a match against a longsword and my right lens keeps popping out after that day, too, but i can't complain since it was my own stupid fault to let my guard down.
mm...enough of that...i missed the party in orlando yesterday...too tired after i got home to climb in the car...hope i didn't miss anything...
