Halftime is upon us and the impending doom of midterm exam is evident in the small mammals taking shelter underground! (Sometimes mistaken by the less-informed scientific community as autumn hibernation.)
Winter is here and the days grow dramatically shorter (or it could just be the hour difference 'cause of daylight's savings) but I'm just beginning to feel the liveliness (sp?) and vitality of spirit promised in fall. A warm bed in the morning seems nicer when it's cold outside.
There'll be pre-calc exam this Friday (actually Advanced Topics in Math, if you want prod me about my mathily-challenged brain) and then (finally) my 1st-dan test in sword. <-pun?
Hopefully the rest of the exams will fly by without a hitch so I'll look forward to my dad returning for christmas (we'll ((my dad...)) will probably be up to parties while he's here which means I'll be able to spend some time in Orlando, wee).
In other news, I've discovered that the upside for severing ties with your friend of eight years (who no longer views you as a friend but a typical asian character who can be explained, understood, and treated according to the most common and insulting stereotypes) and henceforth 90% of your other friends who find it necessary to pick sides, is that all the gossip spread behind your back is no longer heard because you don't take the risk of befriending them anymore.
Consequently, you get a better picture of who's looking out for you (thank you, Mr. O'Reilly). I'm not showing any (open) hostility to those who chose sides, as I can understand the feeling of comfort and security when you align yourself with a powerful and popular person, but at least now I can see those of whom you can't count on in a tough spot and henceforth those you shouldn't aid too much for risk of getting backstabbed (again).
Of course, out of the bad springs good (for good can grow well in soil with so much strength as hate) and everyday I appreciate more and more those who have been patient with me (if I've been a slow person who couldn't take a hint) and those who didn't befriend me according to the political advantages gained from such a relation (or sever ties because I inhibited their own position).
Thank you, comrades of the sword class for your acceptance, training and just plain kick-ass kick-assing (of course within the confines of our noble and never-made-fun-of art >>), Ariel for weathering through AP Amer Hist with me, Mrs. Graham who I dare call a second mother (though I'd never admit it) and ironically teachers my AmerHist class...

...and you, who didn't forget about just another soul in a forgotten town...and of all the people who could read this...I guess sad excuse for a tribute to life...I'm glad you're the one.
...'Cause of course anybody would know I'm just spouting emo nonsense...right?
And I'm really a masculine,insensitive,macho-dude who has no feelings and never, ever cries 'specially when watching war movies or university of laughs, huh? huh?
Thank you, and good night.
