this weekend was full of big changes for me and it seems like everyone else in my life. can't name names or point fingers but i can talk about the garage stuff. friday we closed out the cordoba garage in a different way then i had hoped. i would have preferred to have a really rocking dancy show with everyone out and having fun. but i guess the mellowness really fit the mood and better and thanks to everyone who came out to that and who helped us make it possible.
last night we had the first symbiotic experience of an empty garage show at the pink mailbox. i guess that makes it a pink mailbox show. you know what i mean though. jen had booked the bands and i didn't know too much about them. they were pretty good, especially doomsday device. but the last band- francine dancer- was a band comprised of assholes AND their music was a pathetic excuse for emo pop punk dance puke. but i really think it was them that drew everyone out to the show - so good for them and their asshole fans.
but lots of fun stuff happened last night for a bunch of different people and that's all that matters. as i sat at the house last night and realized that during any given set never more than 1/3 of the people at the show were actually watching the band. so i decided what we do is really provide a backdrop for the normal iv saturday night happenings. but at least i hope by providing the type of music we like we get to provide the backdrop for kids we like as well.
