Long weekends are so deceptive. They convince you that you have all the time in the world and leave you to make poor sleep-related decisions and revel in the joys of not having to wake up early or have any work to do. When you come to, you realize that it's the afternoon or evening before class, you've done no work and you are more tired than you were when you entered the week. Thousands of students with otherwise excellent GPAs and work ethics fall victim to long weekends every year. It is a horrible situation that must be stopped.

The only solution, at least in my opinion, is to have long weekends (preferably four-day weekends) every week. This way, students will eventually learn effective time management and get plenty of sleep. Write to your congressperson and tell them you support extending the weekend to four days to protect the children. After all, children are our future, and we must protect our future.

What a lovely weekend. And now, instead of doing work or the millions of things I signed up to do, I'm going to take a nap. Hooray.

poor time management, oh well
