we better have a good explanation for all the fun that we had...
Melissa Ferrick + Ani DiFranco (in concert) == OMG YAY! debboamerik bought tickets TODAY (which we could NOT afford) because MF and AD are probably my two favorite modern musicians; she's a big MF fan too (although she didn't know her music until I introduced her), but she's indifferent to AD and it was primarily Ani's show. it was a wonderful performance, really intimate and powerful and alternately upbeat and spiritual. Melissa did mostly new stuff, and Ani did a good mix of her older stuff and stuff from her new album. they even did two songs together, which was really awesome to see. Melissa looked kind of lost without her guitar, though. it was a lot of fun. I think debboamerik had the most fun watching me go crazy with excitement. I have the best girlfriend ever. she's still getting spanked for buying the tickets, though.
