these are actually meant to be teeny, so don't bother clicking through.
Quality's pretty low. I always forget to shrink the file.
Morning makes everything all right again, no matter how bad the blood sugar situation gets. Morning air is full of negatively-charged ions (which promote serotonin production, I think I mentioned that somewhere). I'm a morning person. I love morning. Up at 4:57am ahead of my alarm, 700kcal on the elliptical- even though the caffeine reaction didn't really run, no blazing neon beta-endorphin visions came out of the exertion today.
Vancouver has this particular rainy night quality. William Gibson's vision of a wet neon sub-Asian city in Neuromancer is- am convinced- Vancouver's Downtown Eastside on a rainy morning. The skytrains whisper down Terminal Avenue up on their wet concrete platforms, with no drivers. It's all controlled by a central computer. I ran outside after my workout (in my shorts and t shirt) to try to take pictures, capture the cyberpunk-tinged gloom. Settled for trying to take pictures of puddles on the street instead. I've been fascinated by that image for a while, the wet black asphalt street and all the liquid neon streetlight shadows on it.
The streetlights are already that radioactive shade of orange. I'll never get tired of that aesthetic. It makes everything look irradiated after dark.
Anyway. Today I am drawing. As a freelancer, I am taking the day off. Probably... those two Akatsuki art critic characters and the chance to rip off Masamune Shirow's color style, circa Orion... that and that Shikamaru/Naruto pencil image. I have the urge to involve a reindeer in that picture somehow. (Not the way you think! It's not a yaoi picture... geez. XD)
Full Throttle Sugar Free is different chemically then Rockstar Diet, I notice. There's more pure black crude caffeine in there. Rockstar has a smoother high- the guarana, I suppose. I need more matcha. I'm told you can great quality matcha for cheap in the Crystal Mall, which is this fascinating subterranean asian marketplace under the Metrotown shopping megacomplex. I'm thinking I'll take my camera on that expedition, show you guys all the culture shock in picture form.
Another fun hunting trip might be out to Chinatown.. which is actually much closer.
Anyway, I feel better.
