Summary: While on duty in Afghanistan with the Royal Irish Regiment, Merlin is injured by a chlorine gas bomb. He returns home blind in his left eye and suffering from asthma attacks and neither he nor his boyfriend Arthur really know how to cope with this severe change in their relationship.
Notes: As you can guess by the warnings - lots of hurt, but there's also comfort. There's not just pain^^
I am in no way an expert on Army language and conduct. I did my research, but no one’s perfect^^. There will be a glossary of a few terms and objects at the end of the story for reference.
Shrewsbury looked like a lovely town when I went through it with the train, but I never actually alighted there, so any and all descriptions concerning Shrewsbury are completely fictional or taken off Google maps*g*.
Lastly, anyone expecting great interaction between the knight characters and Arthur or Merlin or generally many great moments of interaction between major and minor characters might be disappointed. While they do play a role, this story focuses is mostly on Arthur and Merlin. Some characters are very much side-lined, it was done so on purpose.
