As ever, in the tradition of
librarything: a poll.
View poll: Books 2012 65 books total this year; 22 audio books, 13 re-reads. (Only barely more than half as many books as I read
last year, when I totaled 119.)
Lots of series reading this year, and reading things because someone mentioned them, or because I've known about them for so long I ought to know what's actually in them, rather than other peoples' distillations.
My standouts this year seem to be mainly non-fiction: Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain, Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power by Rachel Maddow, and The Cloister Walk by Kathleen Norris, but Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro and Blindsight by Peter Watts standout among the fiction.
Comments, arguments, recommendations and questions welcome, as ever, in the comments.
