Things not so good about this evening: sitting in the car waiting for the RAC for over two hours instead of eating delicious vegetarian food in excellent company.

Things that much improved the wait: reading a Nancy Drew book (which was all I could find in the car...I had picked it up at an op shop for my friend who collects them) by the light of a street-light. I hadn't read a Nancy Drew book in years. I loved them as a girl, though I always found them somewhat unintentionally hilarious at times. Reading one as an adult I found it significantly more unintentionally hilarious. My favourite moment? Nancy, seeing the mysterious tall, dark man who she suspects of tailing her waiting near her in line at the airport, figures it wouldn't be good if he realises she is flying to San Francisco. So she decides she had better buy a plane ticket to New York as well, just to throw him off the scent, saying to herself "thank goodness I've got Daddy's credit card in my pocket!" (Ah, the lessons we can learn from Nancy...)
