i've been listening to the sound opinions podcast (which I love and you should all download btw) and this week's is with amy ray. people who know her know her as half of the indigo girls, but I only know her as the exgirlfriend of jennifer baumgardner, author of "manifesta" and "look both ways: bisexual politics", who I have a serious crush on.
suzan and I saw her do a reading for "look both ways" at bluestockings about a year (or was it two?) ago and we were both giggling like schoolgirls. it was a small reading, and when she took questions it seemed like we were really having a conversation. afterwards when she signed my copy of the book she seemed to get flustered and instead of writing "here's to love!" like she did in everyone else's book she wrote "here's to josie" and then had to cross it out and it was really adorable.
she's like the local celebrity bisexual (I happen to know she lives in Williamsburg with her young son) who seems so approachable that having a crush on her almost valid.
anyway....just remembering.
