So today I had to go to an Albertson's to sample some sparkling wine, riesling, merlot, and chardonnay. The Albertson's was in Oviedo, on the corner of Red Bug Lake Road and Tuskawilla. I was really excited that I didn't have to drive into Winter Garden or Eustis today. So I mapquested it to check, and mapquest said "Take the 417 over to Aloma and take Aloma to Tuskawilla" and I said "Screw you, mapquest, I don't want to take a TOLL road to go to OVIEDO.
THAT WAS MY FATAL MISTAKE.
So I took North Tanner to Lockwood to Red Bug Lake Road to Tuskawilla. Driving down Red Bug, I'm all excited because I'm gonna make it a few minutes early. I was just past the Oviedo Marketplace Mall where Red Bug Lake Road is a four lane divided highway, and I'm in the inside lane. I look over to my right just in time to see what I THINK was a metal FENDER fly out of the bed of the pickup next to me and slams into the side of my car.
I think I'm going to carry clean underwear in my car from now on. I almost heaved it scared me so much. Funny thing was, all I could think of was OMFG KRISTIN! If you didn't know, Kristin had a semi tire fly up and hit her car several months back.
So anyway, I pull over and my car is fine. It missed my windows, or else I'm sure it would have shattered them, but it just left a few dents in my passenger side doors. Short of the heart attack, I was fine.
So I called the manager of Albertson's and told him what happened and that I was gonna be late, then I called my mother and told her what happened and got fussed at for not pulling over by the guy and getting his insurance information. Then I called my boss and left a voicemail explaining what happened in case Albertson's complained about me being late. I finished my heart attack and arrived at work 15 minutes late.
So I get to Albertson's, the clerk has no idea about anything I'm doing, so I had to hunt the wine down myself. Finally got frustrated (I still don't know wine well) and called my boss again, who had just listened to my message and was concerned for my health and my car, and then walked me through finding the wine and everything. I sold 12%, which is about average (If I sell one bottle for every four tastings I do (ie, 25%) I get a free bottle myself), then went home.

Passenger side rear door. Scrapes on bottom, crack (maybe just in the paint? It doesn't seem deep...) on top:
Close up of the scrapes:
Close up of the crack, my fingers for reference of size (actually, it's dark outside, so I couldn't see the crack through the viewfinder, I had to use my hand to aim the picture):
So yesh, all is well.
Now if I could only calm down...
