What an amazing trip. It really was.
Chris and I decided not to leave until the sun had risen on Saturday since Chris didn't want to be beat the entire day we arrived. So we left around eight, I got swimsuit bottoms that actually fit, and we were on the road by nine. The drive there was really nice. It was a nice day, kind of cool, and we made it to our hotel around five or so. From there we headed immediately to the beach (after getting lost while trying to find it). There was traffic like I'd never seen before on the bridge-tunnel, but we finally made it there just as the sun was going down. So we went for an evening walk on the beach, and got dinner there as well. Then we got one of those two person side-by-side little bike things and rode around on the boardwalk until about eleven. It was really nice and peaceful and cool. Then we went back to our hotel and crashed.
The next day we woke up and went to the pancake house down the road, and spent the entire day from then on out at the beach. :D We played in the water and rode on the surf and buried each other in the sand, which I'd never done or had done before. It was pretty sweet. After splashing and laying around for five or so hours, we went to our second hotel (cheaper to book two nights separately, that's what they don't tell you), which was AWESOME. It was really pretty and there was a little coffee house, and the bathroom was huge, and if I ever go back there, I'll probably stay at that hotel. I showered (which was awesome 'cause they had one of those shower massager things which I stood under for about 30 minutes trying to massage all the sand out of my hair) and we got some Italian food and then we just laid in the hotel room watching Law and Order for a few hours before we went to sleep.
On Monday, we'd just planned on going home so that we could be back early, but once we were on the road, we thought it would be fun to go to King's Dominion, so we did. We got there around one (after being stuck in more ridiculous traffic) and we rode a few rides, but we spent most of our time there at the water park. We rode the lazy river and played in the wave pool, but my eyes started to hurt really bad, so Chris insisted I get some sun glasses and that we should leave (which wasn't that big of a deal, since when you buy a ticket, you can come back another day for free, as long as you don't lose your ticket), so we did. Turns out it wasn't just sun screen running in my eyes like I thought, I'd actually sun burnt them. They're feeling better now, but it was still really sucky until the sun went down. I got a pretty sweet pair of sunglasses out of the deal, though. XD I didn't get a single inch of sunburn on my skin though, go figure. I am so tan.
I didn't take many pictures, just a few when we got back from the beach on the second day, but here they are, under the cut
Yep, so that's pretty much it. I'm back now, watching crappy TV and thinking about heading to the library.
I missed you guys. :D
