So, just as a disclaimer, this might be quite a long entry (or it might not). My brain is eager to write, but my wrist is sounding crunchy.
Firstly, I wanna share with you something absolutely fantastic. It’s a video from Amber, star of the hooping video I posted when I talked about Jules’ birthday, showing off her hot body (woo!) and her bizarre talent with centripetal force. If that’s not enough, she’s dancing to The Beatles, and everyone loves The Beatles.
Click to watch! And give her lots of stars! And happy comments! Then you can come back and read the rest of this post.
Done? Okay, cool. Wasn’t she awesome?
(Completely stealing her idea, I’m thinking of doing something similar with yoga. XD Secretly, I’ve never had an original thought in my life.)
Secondly, internet friends who share mix tapes (er...CDs) are awesome. Just awesome. I’ve found some of the best music from people making mixes either in the form of playlists, torrent collections, or just plain ol’ CDs, and there’s nothing more impressive than the gift of music (except maybe that hooping video). Seriously, music changes people’s lives, sometimes saves it, we all know that, and when it’s given to you by someone you respect, there’s just nothing better than that. The latest contribution to my ever-expanding collection was from
William, and it’s just tremendous. I wish I had a website and some bandwith to share the actual music with you, but instead, here’s a track list, for your internet searching pleasure:
Another TIme, Another Place
01. Nanne Gronvall - “Tarantella”
02. E Nomine - “Mitternacht”
03. Nouvelle Vague - “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”
04. Josephina Cronholm - “If I Apologised”
05. Amanda Abizaid - “A Place in Time (extended)”
06. Duran Duran - “Come Undone”
07. VAST - “Touched”
08. OKINO, SHUNTARO - “Cloud Age Symphony”
09. The Birthday Massacre - “Shiver”
10. Within Temptation - “Running up That Hill”
11. Nightwish - “Passion and the Opera (single edit)”
12. Lacuna Coil - “To the Edge”
13. Evanescence - “Bring Me to Life (alternate version)”
14. Sisters of Mercy feat. Ofra Haza - “Temple of Love”
15. Abney Park - “Sleep Isabella”
16. Bear McCreary - “All Along the Watchtower”
It’s a badass mix. Aside from the wicked remixes of stuff I already had and amazing covers, the ‘original’ pieces are just too cool. Oh, yeah, and massive amounts of chick rock. Gotta love the chick rock.
As a side note, the Temple of Love remix on here is even longer than the ‘extended’ mix, clocking in at 8:09, Nik, so it might be better for your IHOP remix. :)
So, along that theme, I’ve got two blank CDs and two blank tapes sitting here, and a week and a half before I leave. WHO WANTS A MIX! :D
Alright, that’s all for me. I have all kinds of thoughts floating around in my head, but no real way to make any kind of cohesive paragraph out of them, so I’ll save them for later.
