Troll video!
So after finding that video last night, heroine_junkie and I dug up our old troll video. See, we brainstormed some really stupid, ridiculous video and were like "Let's just do a lot of masking and gradients and shit and see if anybody calls us out on our bullshit." And then we found Passion for Lies and shelves the project because honestly, how can you top unironic Joker/Aeris, idek. But, we put it up on a whim today, complete with tl;dr wall of text description.
Just for fun, I'm going to go over the ways in which this video is less ridiculous than a good 50% of FF AMVs:
- May bastardize the characters, but does not actually contradict the very fabric of the universe (like introducing vampires or making a high school AU or something).
- Is not a crossover.
- Does not feature Songstress Yuna singing every time filler is needed.
- Does not feature "child versions" of the two characters, invariably played by Kairi and Sora, in order to communicate flashback.
- We didn't have to mask in a guitar, vampire fangs, or scars from self-harm. For shame.
- The video actually approximately matches with the story we typed up. Like, you can tell what is going without having to consult the TL;DR description for answers to important questions such as "But where did that pink haired Sephiroth come from?"
- No misuse of voice clips/OUR OWN RECORDED VOICE CLIPS.
- Lacks PSA about domestic violence, cutting, drugs, or finding Jesus. For shame.
- We didn't disable ratings.
I don't even know. Maybe we'll try again some day, but I really don't think these people are to be outdone.
