Avatar and racebending
For those of you who are familiar with the The Last Airbender debacle but not in the racebending community, paramount's latest decision has been to divvy up the nations according to race.
Water Tribe = White
Fire Nation = Indian
Earth Kingdom = "Asian"
Air Nomads = Also White
Clearly, they're trying to divide up the nations in order to reflect the casting decisions that they've already made. Unfortunately, the effect of this is that the evil brown people are oppressing and destroying the virtuous white people. It's hardly as deliberate as, say, 300, but goddammit Paramount.
It seems as though they're not going to be changing their casting. Time to seriously consider boycott.
