Maxed Ada, Yun and Allen today. Time to go hunting for a shiny hoppip. I'd hunt for a shiny absol instead but I have neither the time nor the patience.
Favourite Opening
I like a lot of the FF openings but I think VII's is the tightest, which may be heavily coloured by my fangirl glasses. All the same, I like what it does - starts you off isolated in space, anchors you to one important character, draws back to focus on Midgar as the music swells and stays there for a while. You get an immediate impression of the place you're going to be spending the next two hours in, and it launches you into the action without any hesitation. Despite how big the place is, you don't feel disoriented at all while you play through the intro, and I actually really like that you don't see Cloud until they've established a couple other things first - and that those couple other things have a lot of plot significance. I love the symmetry of Aeris' face appearing out of the darkness at the beginning and the end, as well. Like, seriously, love. It is kind of at security blanket levels.
Honourable Mentions: FFVI (My favourite part of the game is the opening, actually), FFIX (Just for the Vivi part, I love to skip), FFT (I love it when games don't start at the beginning beginning)
Also, hey, if any of you said anything nice about me
here, thanks kindly. Stickers for everyone.
