We are free

I have a cramp in my side, and small pile of movies to watch, all of which were recommended by friends.

I can't remember the last time I became heavily invested in a book, story, or novel. I have a stack of books with intriguing titles that serve as a pedestal for my alarm clock and hold what I can only assume to be vast amounts of glorious, untapped information regarding the natures of sex, love, financing, and war.

I've received books as gifts that I still need to read.

I'd really like a tai-chi buddy. I wonder if an ad for a "mindfulness buddy" could lead to something wonderful and life-changing. I'm looking for transformation.

I really love this song, "We Are Free" by Hans Zimmer from the Gladiator soundtrack. Whenever I listen to it, it puts me in a mood, and I imagine myself standing in fields and scaling mountains.

Because I haven't been writing, my thoughts have been swimming around in my head for a while, becoming murkier and harder to discern with each passing incident.

I'm going through a tremendous period of writer's block. I remember Hemingway wrote about the difficulty of writing, and the importance of writing at least one true sentence. The sentence, he would say, would provide the anchor for that day's work, and if necessary, as a point of re-focus and stability where he could return to begin, anew.
