stuffy34 1. How do you deal with oppressive heat?
Drinking lots of ice water, freeze a hand towel and drape it around my neck, take a cold shower, and turn the fan on high.
2. Would you rather print pictures out from your computer, or go to a store and get them printed?
I would almost always rather print it off my computer. However, if it's something that I want framed, then I'll take it in to be printed.
3. What's the most you'd be willing to spend on a pair of shoes?
No more than $30.
4. Have you ever been so irritated with a stranger to the point of wanting to punch them?
That's an almost daily thing for me. Some people are just so fucking stupid & I find that to be highly irritating.
5. When's the last time you found something you thought you lost forever?
I found the USB for my camera the other day.
6. Do you mind paying full price, or would you rather find a way of getting a deal/discount first?
My motto is: 'if it's not on sale, I probably don't actually need it.' I'm not brand loyal or anything like that. I go where the discounts take me.
7. What's something you should be sorry about, but aren't?
I should probably be sorry (or at least feel the least bit bad) about a couple weeks ago when I freaked out all over my S.I.L. Eh, she had it coming and I only have so much patience for other peoples' shit right now.
8. Are you able to watch movies mindlessly, or do you get distracted by flaws/plot holes?
Flaws and plot holes don't distract me. I'm more likely to get distracted by my cat jumping in my lap, one of the dogs doing something or other, an errant thought, etc.
9. Is there any particular food or drink that takes you longer to eat/drink than other things?
I can make a cup of tea or a can of Ginger Ale last for over an hour at times. But food? I don't think there is anything.
10. Are you doing anything important tomorrow?
We're having my daughter's 7th birthday party tomorrow, so one of us has to run out and pick up her present, then hide it until it's time for her to see it.
11. What's one thing that people definitely CAN'T count on you for?
I am definitely not that person you come to and whine about things you can control/do something about, and expect me to say, "oh you poor thing". So you definitely can't count on me to throw you a pity party.
12. What about something they definitely can count on you for?
If you're not just looking for a pity party and genuinely need someone to listen to what you have to say or offer honest advice, then come to me.
13. How do you feel about your handwriting?
I can read it.
14. Has there ever been a teacher that has had a great impact on your life in some way?
Yes, my elementary school music teacher, Mrs. King and mt 6th grade Language Arts teacher, Miss Becky. Mrs King taught me to love and appreciate music. Miss Becky taught me to really love reading. And to this day, books and music are two things that I just couldn't live without.
15. Is there a store that bothers you immensely for some reason (people who shop there irritate you or the employees who work there are rude, etc)?
Victoria's Secret only because it insults my sensibilities to even consider paying that much for a bra and panties.
16. Would you rather read a physical magazine or read the articles online?
Either one works for me.
17. What's one food that you want to try but haven't yet?
I can't think of one.
18. Do you wear majority of the clothes you own, or do you tend to wear the same few things over and over?
I do have my favorites, but for the most part, everything I own gets worn at some point.
19. Do you ever wonder what has happened to people you've lost contact with?
.There's a couple I wonder about sometimes.
20. Are you more likely to watch TV on your computer, or on the actual television?
The television. There's just some things (mainly sports) that are better enjoyed on a 42" flat screen than a 15" monitor.
21. Do you go out of your way to be polite to people?
I don't think of it as going out of my way when I'm being polite to someone. That's just how I was raised, and how I'm raising my children. You can't reasonably expect people to be polite to you, if you're not polite also.
22. What's something you complain about frequently?
I'm tired. I have a headache. I'm getting too old for this shit. That's been my mantra for the past couple weeks.
23. How do you feel when it's your birthday?
I survived another year, cool.
24. If you're home alone and someone knocks on the door, what do you do?
If I'm expecting someone I answer the door. If I'm not expecting someone, I may or may not answer, depending on if I feel like it or not.
25. Let's say you received a gift from someone and open it in front of them -- and it's something you absolutely hate. How do you react?
I smile and thank them for the gift. In the case of the hideous red and orange checkered sundress, that ugly thing got sent to a thrift store a few days later.
26. Would you say you have good control of your emotions?
Pretty much.
27. If you hurt someone's feelings, would you feel bad or tell them to suck it up?
I don't like hurting someone's feelings, so I would feel bad about it. If someone asks for my thoughts or an opinion and what I have to say hurt their feelings, that's a different story.
28. If a friend suggested that you two were to do something/go somewhere, and you really didn't want to, would you be more likely to just go along with it anyway or speak up?
I'd speak up and suggest something different to do or another place we could go that we both might enjoy.
29. Have you, at any point in your life, been obsessed with watching Food Network shows?
Not obsessed, but I do like watching Paula Deen. .
30. What's one book that you have read that will stick with you forever?
'I Know This Much is True' by Wally Lamb. I've not read it in about 10yrs and it's still made an impression on me.
