Now?! I've been relatively fine my whole bloddy fucking pregnancy and this shit happens to me NOW?! Seriously, I've been doing great in the nausea and vomiting department for the past 33 weeks. However, tonight, I've thrown up FOUR times!!! Yeah, four times!! Between 4pm and midnight I've given my tithe to the porcelein gods four wretched fucking times!! I'm gonna take a time out from this utterly pointless rant to make a personal note to one of my lovely preggy friends who reads my blog.
Kelly- If you're reading this, I sincerely hope that you don't go through this whole late 3rd trimester vomiting thing. It blows chunks. Pun intended. The whole first tri nausea/vomiting deal is bad enough as it is, w/o being convinced you're gonna barf up an actual baby! lol
Okay, let's go on to more interesting and less disgusting things, shall we? I had my 33wk appointment with my midwife today at the birth center. The kids were out of school, and Matt is going to be out of town all next week, so he wanted to go to make sure that it was okay for him to go w/o having any reasonable expectation of me going into full blown labor while he's in St. Augustine, conducting whatever the hell bullshit conference he's doing this time. I guess that's a "perk" of him being the jr. VP of his company. He actually gets to be in charge of these things and involved in the planning to an extent. Of course, he's completely involved in getting his part of the presentation together. You know, spreadsheets, powerpoint slides, charts, graphs, facts, statistics, suggestions, etc. So, he gets to do that, and since I'm officially a stay-at-home mom now, I can actually sit down and help him with stuff! Of course, I've helped him as much as I can since he got this job in July. You know, in between working 40+hrs a week, carrying a half load of classes, taking care of two growing kids, two dogs and a paranoid delusional cat. Oh, and we can't forget the pumpkin in my belly that just loves to move as much as the alotted space will allow her.
But he appreciates my help, he really does, and he tells me what a blessing I am at every opportunity. He's the kind of man that always tells me how beautiful, smart, funny, witty, sensitive, loving, and gentle I am. He tells me I'm all that with a firecracker attitude to boot! He even counts that as an asset! I love the man. Can ya tell? Even tonight, while I was either throwing up, or sitting on the floor next to the toilet, he got the kids ready for bed, brought them in to say good night to me and the baby, and then tucked them in! After all that, he hung out with me in the bathroom with me until I felt like getting up and dragging myself to bed. The man can bathe children, dress them, brush teeth and hair, change diapers as needed, read stories (with the correct character voices at that!), get "one last drink of water", check for monsters under the bed, make sure their closets are closed and latched tightly so that the cat can't get in there and scare the hell out of them or wake them up. Hell, he can even walk two dogs, one being a Shitzu/Lhasa Apso mix that has an ultra sensitive "hyper" button, and the other a 2yr old German Shepard that is 25in tall and 70lbs! He can do all that wonderfully, but as soon as you put a power point program in front of him to make a presentation from, he comes home going, "honey, I need you to help me with this!" lol I love it though. He knows the basics of it all, but he's much more effecient with Excel, Access and, Word. No matter though, he's a wonderful husband, father, friend and employee. I'm just glad I like helping with the projects he has to do. hehe
So, as I said, the whole family went to my prenatal appointment on Tuesday. It was pretty cool. On Monday, we took the kids to their ped to get their flu shots. That was not cool. When you're two and three years old, the idea of getting stuck with a needle is scream inducing. Oh well, they were only mad for about 15 minutes until we got them a cookie and me a Venti Mocha Latte. :D Matt and I got our on Tuesday. I hope for no one to be getting the flu in my house this season! Well, the appointment started out normal. Did the normal vitals check, blood pressure was fine, no swelling problems, no fever, resting heart rate was okay, pulse ox was acceptable but my resp. rate was 18 breaths per minute. I've had more problems with my asthma this pregnancy than I have with the other two. My Advair was increased to 500/50 twice a day, since I seem to having more trouble at night with coughing, choking, wheezing, etc. I wake up at night and it feels like there's someone standing on my chest. Not cool, not cool at all! So, we're hoping the increased Advair will decrease my need for my rescue, which will make everyone, namely me, much happier! Then, we got to the fun part; the sonogram!! I was 33wks on Tuesday, and my fundal height measurement was 37cm. The scan was great! The baby is head down, there is ample amniotic fluid around her, she's active, and we were able to get some measurements of her to guesstimate current weight/length. Tara guessed that right now, the baby weighs 5lbs 2oz and is 15.5" long. We even saw her doing some really good practice breathing on the monitor which was awesome! That was really neat for the kids to see, and they got to hear her heartbeat which clocked in at 157bpm. I think seeing the u/s, it's really sinking in to Hannah that there is an actual baby in mommy's tummy. when I was pregnant with Darren, she was only 18mths old when I had him, so she didn't quite understand what having a new baby really meant until we brought him home and she asked if we could send him back! lol This time, she's almost 3.5, so she knows a bit more what it means for me to be pregnant. Darren is just like, "Otay", and goes on about whatever it is he's doing. I think things will make more sense to him when the baby actually gets here.
I really can't wait for the baby to get here. She's 5lbs 2oz right now, or so the u/s says. If she gains half a pound a week until she's born (assuming she doesn't pop out until 12/30), by current calculations she could be around 8lbs 5oz or so! lol I'm still putting my bet on her being in the 9lb range though.
