Pregnancy and Parenthood Have Taught Me Many Things

Sep 10, 2008 23:28

As of today, I am 24 weeks pregnant with my third (and possibly last) child.  With only 16 weeks left until my projected due date, I've been sitting here tonight, reflecting on everything I have learned since becoming pregnant with my first child.  So, I have decided to compile a list of the things I have learned along the way and share them with ( Read more... )

I'm sure I'll be getting some rest eventually. Matt's out of town this week so anything and everything kid is falling on me. When he gets back, Friday night, it's real tempting to leave the kids with him and go check into a b&b in St. Augustine for a few days. hehe

I hate it when people do that! Seriously, it's their job to tell you things like that and return the call as promptly as they can, or at the very least answer the fucking phone and just get it out of the way all in one fell swoop! We're kind of having issues like that at the office today with certain people *cough*Euricka*cough* not answering their phones when we call up there for some information.

You know, she may not find the upcoming Spanish Inquisition, er, I mean Panel Meeting with the Ethics Committee to be a big deal, but down here in Administration, we sort of do think it's a kind of big deal! Hell, scratch think it's kind of a big deal, it IS a big deal! It's a big, big, BIG FUCKING DEAL!!! What happens when she goes up before the committee on Friday doesn't affect my job one way or another, but it does kind of screw up my week a wee bit. After today, I get Wed and Thurs off because I get to (read: have to) go to that meeting and just tell them what the facts that were presented to me were, and how what she said about it, doesn't jive at all with what the other employees said (the terminated ones and the ones present at that meeting), and what Mary is saying. That's all I have to do on Friday and I should be out of there by 11am at the latest. It won't take them very long to find her actions completely inappropriate and not following in with the university mission statement and basic guidelines for her job. She'll be fired on the spot and then somene's gonna have to be sent up there to run that Department until a replacement can be found.

And she's still a fucking idiot, isn't she? Wow... now that's dense. I can't wait to see what kind of a slap in the face she gets for her conduct, sorry, MISconduct. My god... how can you do something like that and expect to get away with it?! It's beyond unethical, its immoral! What a cold hearted bitch!

I'm with you on the trip to St. Augustine! I'd LOVE to get the hell out of here for even the weekend! Which reminds me, I REALLY have to start planning this girls weekend before the wedding. Lots of choices, I just need to narrow it down to either East coast or West coast. Such a chore! LOL.

Well, she knows what she'll get for her misconduct as well as everyone else does. She's at the point now where it's become obvious to even her, that she's just gone overboard by doing that crap and now the only thing left for the university to do is file her walking papers. After that, it all comes down to how is she going to provide for herself and her family. Losing her job won't mean that her bills are going to suddenly go away. That's kind of why she's not talking to anyone. She knows she's going to be formally fired on Friday, and most likely won't be able to work at this kind of job in the state again since the committee has a responsibility to inform other universities of her misconduct and the likelihood of her doing it again. So, she's in panic mode and not talking to anyone. Her family relies on her paycheck. Soon, she'll have 5 minor children, no paycheck, an unemployed husband with HUGE gambling debts whom she's trying to divorce right now, some of the debts he incurred will be her responsibility to pay off, and if she can't pay her mortgage, she's gonna loose her house. In Florida, if she looses her house and can't provide an adequate place for her kids to live, then she's going to loose custody of them to the state. So really, she's figuring out that by being an idiot and trying to short people simply because she didn't like them, she now has some far reaching consequences to deal with, that won't go away. Plus, Mary played her cards smart. She's turned tail and is totally working with the committee to keep what Euricka did from happening again here. So, Mary is in a bit of a better place than Euricka is, but she too is still out of a job when all is said and done.

If only I could actually DO the St. Augustine thing! *sigh*

All I can think is that she was stupid enough to actually believe that everyone else in higher departments was too busy to care what kind of crap she was pulling. What a stupid fucking idiot. It's really that simple. She's just an idiot.
