(no subject)
so i'm actually updating because i haven't actually updated in a while. well, let's see what's been going on.
i started my internship earlier this month, same day i started my econ class at catonsville. june sixth to be exact. i really really like the job. like it's funny because i thought law/business writing would be incredibly boring. and i'm not saying it's thrilling or anything, but i've found myself getting into appeals cases, employment commission's, civil dockets, and weird shit i didn't even know the definitions of until i came here. so i'm learning a lot, which i guess is the ultimate point of an internship. i'm getting tons of clips, more than any of my other jobs. apparently i came here right after two people in the legal affairs dept left. so for a while i had a story like everyday. now it's slowing down a little because they've hired one other girl and another guy is coming soon. i just finished a story that might be the longest one i've ever had printed. just very featurey/kind of controversial. pretty interesting, i thought. but then again, i'm apparently i law dork lately.
my class is almost over, which is crazy. summer classes are really insane. before you even know what you got on your second paper, it's time for the final. which i like. the class itself was alright. my teacher was hilarious (like a baltimore santa claus, i say) and he made macroecon digestible. he only kept us for three hours most nights (supposed to be four) and is a pretty easy grader. that is not to say i will not be excited as hell when it's over. it will just free up my schedule so much. cuz now i feel so confined during the week/exhausted and stressed out half the time.
also, i'm going up to philly for the fourth of july. i was gonna originally just go up for a party at max's for the fourth, but now liveaid is happening up there on the 1st, so we're just extending our visit. the lineup for it is: bon jovi, dave matthews band, destiny's child, jay-z, kaiser chiefs, keith urban, linkin park, maroon 5, toby keith, def leppard, alicia keys, black eyed peas, josh groban, jars of clay rob thomas, sarah mclachlan and stevie wonder. will smith is hosting and they have a bunch of celebrity judges also. the shows in london and berlin and a lot of other places are obviously better. but i can't drive to berlin, sooo this will do. i'm actually really looking forward to some of them. so yeah. that will be insane. and we're just gonna stay up for the fourth and party and not give a shit. it will be a nice release.
as for right now, i just got done two articles and i really don't have too much to do except wait on an email and a phone call. i'll probly eat lunch soon (rice bowl) and try to leave a little bit early. tonight, we're going to the baseball game against the yankees. we have obstructive view seats (foul pole) but i don't care because they were cheap. it should be enjoyable in my opinion.
