I have to go dress shopping today for a wedding on saturday, talk about last minute. At least summery dresses are on sale, but I'm just not feeling the "try on a million things" vibe today. To make it better I am going to also stop at the craft store to check out some jewelry making supplies and embroidery fabric (I have a multitude of embroidery project ideas right now).
But here is a picture post before I do any of that, baking and kitchen photos behind the cut!
Am I lame for wanting to keep my french oven out all the time? I don't care!
My no-knead bread looked pretty and perfect IN the pot, but the friggen loaf stuck and I could not get it out. I had to wait for it to completely cool and RIP it out, by then the bread was a little chewy and stale, still good though.
I baked chocolate and white chocolate chip cookies yesterday. The first cookie sheet of cookies came out perfectly. I couldn't decide if I was going to bake or freeze the second sheet, so I turned off the oven. I then decided to bake them and put them in the turned OFF oven for 10 minutes before realizing it was off - the second sheet came out ok, however they were a lot flatter than the first one!
Chocolate stout cake that I made in june for my manager's birthday. It looks like a giant glazed chocolate donut, though doesn't taste like one at all! It was so hot and humid the ganache didn't really set or harden at all, however it really was still perfect and tasted incredible. I think the next time I make it's I'm going a different direction with the frosting, something non-chocolate.
