a/n: this is soooo ooc you wouldn't even know. i was playing around with this idea because looks can be deceiving and roles can be reversed.
Here's the truth: Jokwon has been at the company longer than JYP has been.
And now here's a secret: Whoever comes first ranks first in seniority.
Jokwon spins his armchair left and right slightly as he shakes the snowglobe in his hand. He watches the flakes fall around the minature house before looking up at the man in front of him. "Look, Jay wants to leave. I want Jay to leave. And we need a scapegoat."
"But-" JYP grips the edge of the desk and leans forward, eyebrows furrowed in a way that makes him seem even uglier, if that was even possible. "Jaebum is an important part of our company. He is invaluable to us and-"
Jokwon eyes the fingers curled around the mahogany and flickers his gaze up to the older man's face.
"I- I'm sorry." JYP pulls back (some might call it cowering) and stutters out an apology.
Jowkwon smiles, satsified. He claps his hands once and points to the door. "Now, move! We're running out of time," the order is softened with a wink, but it manages to enrage JYP more.
"Yes, sir."
"And hyung?" Jokwon says the honorific term so sweetly JYP grits his teeth. "I believe I asked you to enquire about We Got Married? Has there been any progress?"
"We've been in the talks with PD Lee and the production team," JYP relays the information with a slight respectful bow of his head. "They are extremely pleased that you have expressed interest and will consider it seriously."
"Good. And hyung?" Jokwon grins, his voice tilting up to a near threat. "Make her hot."
Park Jin Young steps up to the podium and clears his throat. The rain falls like tears around them, staining JYP's three thousand dollar suit with little dark droplets. It is oddly appropriate, he thinks, for such a loss. A young intern hurries up with a black umbrella, eager to shield her boss from the rain. He dismisses her with a wave of his hand and a smile out of courtesy. He smiles sadly out at the gathered group of curious and restless fans, and begins.
"I'm sorry to announce that Park Jaebum, leader of 2PM, has officially resigned..."
The silence that befalls them is so sudden he winces.
"... It is of his own decision..."
A fangirl screams.
"... Best for the group..."
Someone faints.
"Thank you," JYP says the words so softly they are drowned by the deafening din of fangirls in disbelief.
Jokwon sleeps well that night.
