Summary: In a world where a single act was made differently, what would change? Would anything stay the same?
On November 2, 1983, a yellow-eyed demon visits six-month-old Sam's nursery; Mary finds him and he kills her, setting off a chain of events that will lead to the last surviving remnants of the Winchester family beginning a life-long journey of vengeance through darkness and through blood. But there is something that they don't know: the demon didn't kill Sam that night like they always thought. Instead he picked him up and took him away, like he did all of the other special children, and trained them to fight for him in the upcoming war. Now a different Sam grows up and has to find his place in a world that's not anything like he was raised to believe in.
In In the Beginning Castiel says to Dean, "Destiny can't be changed. All roads lead to the same destination." This is one of those roads.
Author's Notes: This story took way too long to write. First started over a year ago, it has now morphed and grown into nothing like I expected. Huge amounts of thanks goes to my beta,
4thejourney, for sticking with me for so long and to
m14mouse for her lovely, lovely art which can be found
here!
