Happy New Year 2005

Jan 01, 2005 01:57

So sitting down this evening after popping three 20,000 strands with my family and eating mochi and drinking coffee, there I was going over in my head how it sucks that I got my sinus infection on New Year's Eve; how I wished Bryan had come earlier to play poker and to get to know my family; and how I really really needed to get a job soon...and BAM! It hit me! Stop whining!!!! Stop wishing and hoping for something else woman! For god's sake enjoy what you've got and just go with the flow! And now here I am writing down my New Year's Resolutions after receiving so much satisfaction from my 2004 resolution to be more of a bitch, obviously you can see that worked out beautifully... :)

1. Develop patience...by being understanding and learning to withstand and withhold when the situation calls.
2. Saying "I love you" only when you really mean it.
3. Cultivate self confidence...by not being so self-deprecating, by not looking for validation by others.
4. Keep running at least four times a week and doing pilates every other day.
5. Making a decision and sticking to it...but first doing research and gathering info if possible. No jumping in anymore for me.
6. Writing those childrens books.
7. Get a job or go back to school...but first figuring out what I want in life right now and long term...haha...sounds easier and more romantic up on screen as opposed to real practice.

Any other resolutions to add?

People say resolutions never work, but I say after going through a year you know damn well what needs some tweaking in your life... and if you have the balls to identify it and say it out loud to yourself then youre halfway there...the rest of the way merely consists of some wicked nasty foul ups, some brief victories, and assurance that you've set some high standards for yourself that although you never achieve the 30 lb. weight loss at least it stopped you from thirds a few times and you've got a 2 lb. loss instead. In 15 years, you'll be all set!
