Rant of the day
I'm still a little incoherent mind you.
I love watching the news. Not as a source for accurate information, but as a looking glass into our society's behavior. Flipping through the local channels I often find I am amused by how different each news broadcast is. From goofy and low-brow, to conservative and proper, it's just hilarious to see the bias views (and their vocabulary XD) of each of the channel.
But sometimes, no matter how you present it, some news is just plain...freaky.
I was painting in the living room, and something caught on the new caught my attention. Calgary's very own TERRORISM HOT-LINE. It's going to be up soon, and apparently ANYONE can call in to report "stolen industrial fertilizers and explosives."(or other bomb-making materials).Yes I’m sure, that it will only be use to report stolen items, and not for criminal profiling. Funny thing is, people with actually believe that. It was smart for them to try and use that as a cover up, obviously it is far less mild than saying it's for "suspicion of terrorist activities”, because if it was called that, people would be more distress by what’s really going on. Sadly I'm sure, most Calgarians wouldn't give a rat's ass about this, because it's a "report your missing plumbing supply" line and not a "report your neighbor because they are middle-eastern" line. How is this really different than the Russia KGB? Oh right! We live in a democratic society where of course corruption of power and spying is NON-EXSISTENCE. We learn in school about the communist and how they are bad because they use fear to turn everyone into a snitch. With political head games, subtle propaganda, and things like this, closer and closer we will become even more finger-pointing society just like our “arch-nemesis” The Commies, oh, but only with better clothing from Gap and a cup of Starbucks.
Be alarm, be very alarm of the wolf hiding it the sheep’s clothing, but I guess in our case, in a cow hide.
