Oh, look. A post about tipping. I exploded all over it like a teenage boy having sex for the first time. OK, I didn't go that nuts. I really, really dislike when people try to whip out that servers in the U.S. only make $2.13 per hour. First of all,
it's not true for all of the states. Secondly, when it is true, if the employees tips don't bring them to at least minimum wage,
the employer needs to top up the amount to the minimum.
I'm not saying that people should just stop tipping (although I maintain that I would rather pay $20 for a hamburger in a restaurant and have all costs of business included instead of, say, $10 and have to do tip and all later). I am saying that I hate people pulling the pity card with incomplete information about a server's supposed hourly rate.
