I'm making this cake for breakfast.

What flavor of frosting should I use?

You can tell I posted this pre-coffee. This was supposed to go to TQC!

lol

Honestly, though. If it's a breakfast cake, you should either do coffee flavored frosting, or something fruity like banana.

OR you could decorate the cake with those little marshmellows that come in Lucky Charms.

Do they sell those marshmallows on their own? I've never seen them!

I'm having coffee on the side. I wonder if coffee frosting would be overkill.

I wish they did! I'm afraid you'll have to do what the rest of us do and pick them out. (It's okay, your brother won't mind having just the cereal. He LIKES it. At least, that's what you're gonna tell mom and dad.)

There is no such thing as too much coffee.

There's such a thing as coffee flavored frosting? I am most intrigued.

Now that you mention coffee flavoured frosting, it makes me think of coffee cake and that yummy cinnamon-sugar topping drizzled with caramel...

Ooooh. WANT CAKE!

This recipe is in my Baking Illustrated and it is by far the best coffee cake I've ever had. Moist, strusel-y, great crumb, holds up well for a fork. I make it in a tube pan or in a 9x13 pan and it comes out great either way. I make it about once a month - my husband LOVES this!
