Saw this rec at
dodger_winslow and wanted to pass it along. It's such a moving and emotional story, it's hard for me to even do it justice in a few words. John Winchester isn't perfect in it, not even close. He's just a man, a flawed human being trying to cope with unimaginable loss. It's a raw and poignant portrait of a man struggling with his own demons even as he tries to keep pain from tearing what's left of his family apart.
It's also the best Weechesters fic I've read, and I've read quite a few. I don't think I'll ever forget the author's incredible portrayal of Sam and Dean. But that's the kind of story it is. You don't read it and forget it. It sticks with you.
Definitely worth checking out.
