New York

DAY 1 - Wednesday, March 12, 2008
Logan and I headed off to the airport for our flight. The flight up was quite nice. The airport was pretty dead, there was a small line for the security check, but was only a few minutes.
Delta Flight 1066 (MD-90)
Once boarding began we pretty much walked right onto the plane. As the plane was pushed back the Flight Attendant told us we could move around to another seat if we wanted, since there was like 15 people on the plane. So after we reached the cruising altitude, I moved to the seat behind Logan, so we each had a window seat.
Once we got to New York, landing at JFK, we flew straight in, stepped off the plane, grabbed our bags, and walked right out to a taxi which took us to the hotel.
Our Hotel Room
Once we got into the hotel we pretty much unpacked and went to bed.
DAY 2 - Thursday, March 13, 2008
Being our first “official” day in New York, we decided to do the common tourist things.
Subway at the Jay Street / Borough Hall Platform
We bought our
MetroCard’s for the week and hopped on the train to Manhattan, headed for the ferry to the Statue of Liberty.
The Sphere
On the way, we walked pass
The Sphere, a large metallic sculpture that use to stand in the middle of Austin Tobin Plaza, the area between the World Trade Center towers.
Statue of Liberty Street Performer
Now it was cool out on this day, but not really bad … until we got on the ferry for the Statue of Liberty. Being over the water with the sea breeze, it was freaking freezing!
The Statue of Liberty
After visiting the Statue of Liberty, we got back on the ferry and headed over the
Ellis Island.
Entrance to museum on Ellis Island
We walked around inside the museum for a bit, before getting back on the ferry and returning the Manhattan.
Since we were only a few block away, we decided to walk over to the World Trade Center site.
World Trade Center Site
After that we met up with Ofir and headed over to the Helen Hayes theater to see
Xanadu.
Xanadu - Helen Hayes Theater
Since the theater was like one block away from Times Square, we had to talk a walk through there.
Times Square
Military Recruiting Station
Including the, recently, famous
Military Recruiting Station. While walking back to the subway to return to the hotel, we passed in most interesting Hello Kitty bling-bling.
Hello Kiity bling-bling!
DAY 3 - Friday, March 14, 2008
Friday we all (myself, Logan, Ofir, George, and Bart) wondered off to the Brooklyn Superhero Supply store, which is really the front for a creative writing school.
The Brooklyn Superhero Supply
The store sales items like capes (which Bart bought), flashlights, repel ropes, x-ray vision, thermal vision, and canisters of Chaos (which Logan bought).
Bart’s Cape
Logan’s Chaos
When we first got to the store it turned out to be closed. But Logan manage to get a hold of someone on the phone, who said the store would be opening at 2PM, since it was only noon, we decided to wonder around the area until the store opened.
…Wondering around the area.
While we waited for the store to open, we met up with Markus, who came to tell us how fabulous he is.
Markus
After wondering through Brooklyn we headed back over to Manhattan and to
TKTS to see if there were any tickets available for shows we would want to see.
TKTS
With no luck on tickets, we decided to wonder through Chinatown.
Chinatown
Logan found some accessories.
Accessories
And Ofir found some tea… with Tapioca in it, known as
Bubble Tea.
Bubble Tea
Ofir and Bart went off to see The Little Mermaid so Logan, George and I continued to wonder around. I made my way to the Empire State Building and got some photos from the observation deck.
Empire State Building
Times Square from the top of the Empire State Building
After the Empire State Building it started to lightly rain, so we decided to call it at night and headed back to the hotel.
DAY 4 - Saturday, March 15, 2005
Saturday I decided to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge over to Manhattan instead of taking the subway.
Brooklyn Bridge
After walking into Manhattan I headed down to the NYPD Police Museum.
NYPD Museum
They had some pretty neat stuff there, old to present weapons, restrains, handcuffs, uniforms, radios, etc.
After leaving the museum I headed uptown to meet Logan and Ofir at Central Park. On the way I passed by the New York Stock Exchange.
New York Stock Exchange
Once getting to Central Park, I met up with Ofir and Logan, who were resting because Ofir’s “dog’s were barking.”
Ofir’s “barking dogs.”
We headed into Central Park and to
Strawberry Fields so Logan could see the memorial for John Lennon.

Memorial Mosaic
Next we walked over to the
Bethesda Fountain.
Bethesda Fountain
In the tunnel leading to the fountain was an interesting street performer named
Thoth.
Thoth
He’s seemed pretty talented, has some CD’s on iTunes if ya felt saucy, yes Logan - stealing your word, you could listen to clips.
After leaving Central Park we headed over to the theater to see the
New York Rocky Horror Cast.
Clearview Theater
NYC RHPS Cast
After the show we went to this diner around the corner with the cast, before heading back to the hotel.
DAY 5 - Sunday, March 16, 2008
Sunday I pretty much slept all day. In the evening I met up with Logan and we headed into Manhattan to meet up with Bart and George. We all went to this themed restaurant called
Jekyll and Hyde Pub. It was quite interested and a pretty good time. They had a butler character that walked around interacting with everyone and animatronics on the wall that would interact with everyone from time to time.

George and I getting our drink on
Logan and Bart… getting their water on
After eating, Logan and I headed over to the Stonewall Inn, before heading back to the hotel for the night.
DAY 6 - Monday, March 17, 2008
Monday Logan and I woke up early and headed uptown for the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.
Saint Patrick's Day Parade
It seemed like the coldest day yet and we were freaking freezing. We hung around for about the first 45 minutes or so of the parade before saying screw it and going our separate ways. I headed over to the Manhattan Heliport and decide to take one of the Helicopter Tours.
Liberty Helicopter Tours
I didn’t even pay much attention to the city as I did the helicopter, I wish I knew how to fly a helicopter and had money for my own; there so much fun!
In the evening we all met up again and went to see a preview show for
Cry-Baby. The show was awesome. More amazing was John Waters was there watching the show!
John Waters
After the show we hung around outside for a bit so Logan and Bart could hound autographs. After collecting their autographs we all went to eat and this deli where the sandwiches are 3’ high, then headed back to the hotel for the night.
DAY 7 - Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Tuesday, our last day, Logan and I woke up early and headed into Manhattan to attend the Martha Stewart Show. The special guest for the day was
Nathan Lane who was awesome! After the show, we grabbed some food from one last “hole-in the wall” Chinese place and headed back to the hotel. We headed back to JFK for our flight home. The flight home was nice, but no where near as nice as the flight up. It was more crowded and the sky from New York to Florida was one big cloud, so no view.

We landed in Orlando around 7:30PM. I dropped Logan off and headed home.
Overall the trip was amazing, had a great time, and defiantly plan to take another to New York again in the future!
