"With A Heavy Heart I Regret To Inform You" Dept.:

This one is one of the rough ones, folks.

Brett Sommers, expatriate Canadian, ex-spouse of Jack Klugman, ex-panelist on Match Game and all-round wonderful lady passed away this time last week after finally succumbing to the breast cancer she had been diagnosed with some five years ago.

Alice Ghostly, best known for her role as Esmerelda on Bewitched and as Bernice on Designing Women passed away yesterday, succumbing to colon cancer and having suffered a series of strokes over the past years.

Charles Nelson Reilly always called Brett "Susan". She asked him why once, he said it just suited her better than some boy's name. She had recently started touring her one-woman show as a form of self-therapy.

Alice Ghostly was a Tony winner many-times over before she started reaching celebrity through her television appearances. The whole charm behind her was this incredibly resonant voice kind of trapped in what can only best be described as a dowdy exterior. You looked at Alice Ghostly and you pegged her as an underdog, and then she started to talk and she had a beautiful, beautiful speaking and singing voice.

women we love, w/ a heavy heart i regret to inform you, golly fudge!
