To say that Abbott and Costello are important to me is really just beginning to glance off the iceberg and still go down with the ship. There was a period of two summers where CJOH, the local CTV station in my hometown of Ottawa and home station for YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION, ran an Abbott and Costello movie in the Noon to 2 PM slot every day for two summers. Those days it was Spider-Man, Rocket Robin Hood and a half an hour of The Flintstones before I was treated to this classic, and in looking back, ridiculously formative Vaudeville team in some of their best and worst material.
This is simply as good as it gets.
Bud and Lou do WHO'S ON FIRST for the last time that they'll enjoy it. After this (and also on You Tube) there's a version of the bit from the Colgate Comedy Hour where The Boys were not speaking to each other AT ALL, and it hurts too much to watch that one.
