"Things That Keep A Geek Up At Night" Dept.:
Adrian Brody should have been Reed Richards and Charlize Theron should have been Sue Storm...
With George Clooney as Doom?
No, Clooney is Tony Stark... Gotta find the right Doom...
the casting game,
geeksprecht,

No no - s'gotta be more noble *and* menacing, like Jeremy Irons (but not as gay-seeming as Jeremy Irons) to be Doom. Bigger ticket than Giamatti too, but talent wise, you're in the right area.
I'd say Ben Kingsley, but I need him as The Vulture, in my head at least...

Doom is still the former Latverian gypsy with the fascination with magic as another form of science that man just doesn't understand as science yet, but he was a professor at the University where Reed and Sue met. Reed and Sue have the same kind of "You dropped the ball - no YOU dropped the ball" relationship at the beginning of the film, and Doom's been hired as a consultant for the company that's doing the space launch. Johnny is still the extreme sports top gun pilot and Ben was his crusty superior in aerospace.
Reed finds out the whole structure of the space station is designed as a fulcrum to convert cosmic energy into a theoretical energy "magic" so that Doom can save his mother from Hell.
Fixed.

I'd say Roger Rees or a-young-Frank-Langella as well, but, well, neither of them is under 60...

Don't get me wrong, Irons is a MAGNIFICENT actor (you owe it to yourself to see Cronenberg's DEAD RINGERS again, sometime, Rappo - he is AMAZING in that film), he just comes across a little to "fabulous" to give good DOOM.
