Dreamgirls: the lost scene

Watch the following video, and tell me what you like about it.  Comments appreciated.

For me?

I like the fact that Effie's voice gets progressively deeper and demonic...AND that the voice-over artist always seems on the brink of laughter.

Enjoy some mindless fun with voice-overs and intentionally bad graphics!

Um, having seen this video without any context, I can say that I like the fact that the woman in orange was, apparently, cold when her picture was taken.

What is this about, Phil?

This "lost scene" is a parody of two pivotal scenes in the film (and broadway show) Dreamgirls. Basically, Effie is an über-talented, plus-sized, gospel-voiced lead singer of an up and coming Afro-American Girl-Group in the sixties (i.e. the whole story is a blatant reference to The Supremes and Diana Ross, etc). At one point, Curtis (the group's manager) breaks it to Effie that in order to cross over to the pop charts, the group needs a smoother sound (i.e. less "gospel growl") from the lead singer...so Deena (the "woman in orange" smuggling Tic Tacs) is put in the lead-singer position, and Effie is pushed to singing back-up.

Naturally, Effie is unhappy with this change. She accepts it at first, but her displeasure manifests itself in some really unprofessional behavior and reactions...and she's eventually kicked out of the group. A lot of the dialogue in the video is lifted from the scene where she's ousted.

Hope my nerdiness has helped.
