Ok. It's November. It's SUPPOSED to be cold, right? So, what am I doing on the deck grilling steaks in a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops? Even the plants are confused!

I have this theory that there is only so much cold air available for wintertime. It stays in the Arctic Circle until the Jet Stream blows it down on someone. It can get cold early and stay cold, but not really COLD, for the winter, OR it can wait for an opportunity to blow all of the frigid air down on us at once and get it colder than a brass monkey's ass around here. I think last year wasn't too bad, but Europe got the cold air. Hmmm. Given the rumors of global warming, that might make sense. When warming happens, the Trade Winds from the Caribbean are interrupted, so there's nothing to keep Europe (especially the British Isles) warmer than what would be expected for that longitude. We'll see what happens this year. If the trend is steady, we'll have a few weeks of bad weather but Europe will be devastated again.

I'm hoping for a nice Thanksgiving snow.
