My dad's family, whom he has forced me to be estranged from his side of the family b/c of transition, still loves and misses me. Someone went to great lengths to get the message through. My dad has perpetuated silence in both directions of communication, and mom is only an accomplice because of standing by dad, and respecting how he handles "his" family.
My feelings are mixed and I am scared of whom I will have "the pronoun battle" with or how to handle reestablishing communication and/or facing dad's manipulation of the situation.
