Countdown to the Homecoming!!
My cousin comes home next week from Iraq. After a year of service in a hostile environment, seeing all the shit he's seen, he's finally coming home. Some of you may have noticed that I wear an armband/braclet thing that says support our troops. I put this on my wrist on Dec. 24th 2004. It has not been removed since. Ironically, that day was when the mess hall blast occurred. Matt was just outside when it happened, and being a medic saw some horrible things that day. I will take the wristband off at the party for Matt when he's home. I pray everyday for matt and all the soldiers in Iraq right now.
On another party note: Matt has a child who lives with the mother's parents. The grandmother is a bit on the crazy side and will not allow Matt to take his own son to a homecoming party at my parents house as it is out of the state in which they live (Oregon). IT'S HIS KID!!!! He's going to file for full custody when he gets back and settled in. So we're going to have the party down in Portland at my aunts house. It'll work out somehow, i guess.
