The First Duty by Sue and Sal
I just read this entire novel nonstop. It was fantastic. Adventure, romance, nuanced characters, believable historical atmosphere - everything was in place. It isn't porn though; there's no explicit sex. That would have diminished this particular story.
Ostensibly this is a fanfic based on the '70s British TV series Colditz. I have never seen that series and my enjoyment of this novel wasn't diminished in the least. Set 1942-1945 in the famous POW camp located in Colditz Castle. The real history is fascinating as well. It was the high-security camp for captured Allied top officers and those with history of escape attempts.
So take my word for it, if you love men in uniform loving men in uniform, this is way too good to pass up. I can't believe i put off reading it for so long!
