I finished a shower feeling a bit thirsty. Smelling like a pile of month-old laundry (the clothes were napped in earlier), I climb down to the kitchen to find the Milk vender beeping loudly. No luck. I leave for the UA Mart, hopeful of its remaining open at this hour. Along the way, along the road, it is twice as dead as a mall placed on the surface of the moon. Naturally the Mart is closed. Only from the cold does the attract music of Dance Dance Revolution downstairs float up and remind me of the Cellar. I traverse more stairs to find the Cellar packed with groups of people sitting in chairs, facing the small stage, staring. It's a comedy show but they stare. I take a pink lemonade with no interest in joining and, on a whim, leave the immobile crowd for the arcade adjacent. On a whim, with the single spare token, I play a game of Galaga (Class of '81 and all that) and am reduced to sub-high score within a few minutes.
I leave the arcade with an empty lemonade and no token, but the crowd of people leave the Cellar after the show, chattering. I go upstairs and leave the Union as it begins to rain, lightly.
It's not weather rain that falls, it is sort of leisurely rain. Like the rain decided to go out for a walk with you rather than force you inside.
I return to the dorm as it stops. And am ready to sleep or read for hours.
Secret Stage Complete.
Possibly I should put this on
here. Possibly YOU should be there.
