end of the world...
i love how lj has all these new options, but it doesn't seem like you can simply just subscribe to people's blogs from the outside of lj. is there a site where you can do that? it would make life so much easier... i want a place to consolidate.
the other day i freaked out the front desk girl about the end of the world. it started with how the bees and oceans are dying. i had heard that Einstein once predicted that after the bees die, the human race has 4 years before they follow. i also heard that the bees were supposed to be gone by summer of 2008. that would put the end of human existence at 2012 - the year the Mayan calendar ends and when the crop circle guys (these really enthusiastic guys i met at a "weird expo" or, it was called something else, but i can't remember) said the world would end as we know it. 2012 also happens to be the year that obama's (i'm predicting he'll win) presidential term will be up, and with some people calling him the anti-christ (The anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a Christ-like appeal...people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything.), it seems like no matter what you believe - everything seems to be converging at this one point (that is, if my facts are right... ? ;| ) i was congratulating her (the front desk girl) on getting into grad school when the other front desk girl came back to the desk with some locally made honey which started us into this conversation about how honey is so great for you and how it's a natural anti-biotic, etc... it was all so positive and exciting until i said, "yeah, too bad the bees are dying!"
