remember when i said kalan's sister's husband was the only one who's really rabid about his republican views? yeah, this is what i'm talking about. she sent me this email earlier to "make me laugh".

there's has also been some discussion on my SIL's myspace page. she posted two things. one of them was a letter by a guy named john porter. you could probably google that, to read the whole insulting letter. it's basically one of those email forwards, supposedly by a born-again christian veteran who doesn't just vote republican, but he's going to this time. yeah right. he makes a lot of broad, insulting statements about people who are voting for obama, meanwhile all he can talk about is how awesome mccain is for being a POW.

anyway, i went off about that. and then later i ended up bringing up the POW thing again. this really gets my SIL in a tizzy. it's like if you dare say that mccain is disrespecting other POWs by constantly using his POW stuff as a talking point, that means you don't respect military service or america. i swear to god. she even tried to bring up kalan being in the military. i was like, "yeah. he agrees with me."

so she was all upset about that. then i commented on some "lincoln quotes" she had. they were pretty much quotes that supported the conservative economic agenda. i was thinking i was pretty sure lincoln didn't say that, so i looked it up, and it turns out they were by some other guy who is a hardlined conservative from like 1916. so i let her know, and she got so pissed. she said i don't let her think or believe anything without proving her wrong. well, that's because i'm awesome.

that was the same blog entry with the picture thing that MIL commented on.

anyway, there was a minor blowout over this, and she ended up deleting her blog entries, and changing her status to "tomorrow is another day!"

wtf, dude? they get so emotional about this. but what's funny, is that they are CONSTANTLY stating their opinions on politics, and we just listen. so this year i'm more outspoken, and they can't handle it. i mean, for fuck's sake her husband had a roid rage over the debate, but i'm an asshole because i corrected the source of her quotes?

so annoying, but i just let it go, because i'm not a weirdo, and i'm able to have a political discussion without crying.
