xmas time wrap up and hfny!

yeah, so the holidays are over. it's always a very busy time of year in the caesar/johnson household.

it started the day after thanksgiving, when i woke up at 3am for some door bustin'! i had finally convinced miss holly to let me buy an unnecessarily large tv. sears had a 42" for super cheap so we were going to go buy one. i got there and there were already people in line. most of which were also there to buy electronics. so i sat in the cold for 45 minutes waiting for the doors to open, and then they do, and people went apeshit! everybody's running and dodging around. i didn't see anyone trampled though. (boo!) so i get upstairs and am informed that they are sold out of super special deal tv because the only had one in stock. really nice sears. but we ended up getting a 50" tv for only a few hundred more, and let me tell you, i'm very satisfied with that.

skip a bunch of days, and december 16th holly and i went to my grandmother's "all-family" xmas party. it's like the actual xmas day party, but with extended family that we don't see very often. after an hour or so there, we went to my mom's xmas party for her and her boyfriend and all their kids. this is when we exchange gifts with mom. holly and i gave her some very nice interchangeable earrings from silpada (all the ladies favorite!) and she got me a much coveted gift card from best buy. (rock band here i come!)

the following weekend holly and i headed up to detroit lakes for her parents xmas gathering. they are always very kind and make very good food. they also got me a bunch of stuffs for my bike which is kick ass. they got me a tire pressure gauge, it's really fancy, and i'm not sure i know how to use it. i hope it ends up working like any other one i've ever used. they also got me a speedometer/odometer for the bike. which i've wanted, just so i know. her younger brother got me a rear lcd light for my bike, which super-bright, and also something i needed. her older brother got me a golf practice kit, with wiffle golf balls, and foam golf balls, and a metric fuck tonne of tees.

then back home the next day (xmas eve)i had to work a half day, and then we went up do duluth for xmas with my dad and brothers and sisters. i gave my dad and laurie (step mom) gift cards to timberlodge and olive garden (which they asked for) and my dad (who's bday is on the 8th) the simpson's movie on dvd. i gave my sister and her husband (it's still weird to think my younger sister is now married) a gc to macy's. i gave my younger brother a gift card to best buy, and my older brother nothing. we really don't exchange gifts anymore, as we see the futility in exchanging best buy gift cards. however, when we went a-door bustin' at sears, we picked them up a cheap shopvac and gave it to them. they ended up giving us slippers. (me homer/holly monkies!) and now to my favorite part i got my new nephew "baby" jack a bunch of shit. let me tell you how much fun it is to buy for kids. i felt like i was buying the toys for myself, which is just awesome. so i got him some big/thick books, a curious george compendium, a "my first reader" which is supposed to help them learn to read, and a walker/rider thing that supposed to help him learn how to walk.

now, "baby" jack is the only grandchild so far. and so he got spoiled to beat the bejesus belt. my parents also got him a walker/rider thing that make the one i got for him look like a yugo. but whatever, the kid has more toys than scrooge mcduck has money. he could literally swim in them. but i loved getting him those things.

anyway, dad and laurie got me a gift card to macy's, a scarf, some glove, socks and turtles (family tradition). carolyn and kelly (her husband) got me a gift card to jcpenny's, little brother got me a gc to best buy (go figure) and "baby" jack gave me some framed pictures of himself. which sounds pretty egotistical (like something jody would give) but it's exactly what i wanted.

then the next day (xmas) we drove back down to spring lake park for mom's side of the family xmas gathering. hung out there a bit. and then left to go to dad's side xmas thingy, but the weather and traffic were terrible, and holly and i were absolutely exhausted we decided to (tweet!) call it a day and just head home.

that friday shannon thompson and i headed down to nebraska to do a show. which went very well. then i worked nye day, and then drove to mora, mn with benny quash and his wife, and my holly to do another show. which also went well, but started and therefore finished late and we celebrated nye in the car. also very boo-ey. we got home drank some champagne, pat and chris came over to party and party we did. then when benny and katherine were leaving they found a puppy outside of a building cold and whimpering so they brought him up to my apartment to warm up. so we kept him there for a while and played with him (man, i really want a dog) and then brought him back over to his apartment to pee. the door was ajar over there, so i let the little guy in, and he ran to a door and started scratching on it, so i knocked and some supremely wasted girl answered and i said, "is that your dog?" and she says, "yeah, where'd you get him?" i replied, "we've had him at my apartment for sometime because we found him outside freezing." "oh, ok." she says not caring. stupid bitch. i want that puppy back. he was freaking adorable.

oh, i forgot holly and i and what we gave to each other. i gave her a bottle of her favorite perfume, that you can't buy here in the states, and you have to order it. for her birthday (which also happens to be xmas, much to her chagrin) i gave her a mn wild hoodie (which she picked out at one of the wild games we went to.) and a "travel voucher" for when we go on vacation sometime this year. she got me steve martin's bio "born standing up" which i have already finished reading and which was awesome to the max. she also got me a 30GB ipod with a shitload of accessories. which is even more awesomer to maxest! i still owe holly her birthday day, because we used it driving around and generally not celebrating her birthday.

that's it from here kids. hope you all had great holidays as i did.
