Haven't posted in forever...
It's been just about over a year since my last time touching this thing, so let's see how this goes.
I'm currently coming to terms with my life as a Diabetic. Was diagnosed in late February. It's coming well, and I don't have to use insulin as my father did. I've changed my eating habits and have lost about 40 pounds.
I've been caring for my Mother for the last couple years, as her leg issues continue to get worse. She recently had to have a toe amputated after contracting a fungal infection. Since October of 2008, she has been admitted into the Hospital about 6 times.
The biggest kick to the gut for myself, and my entire family was the sudden passing of my Sister from Brain and Lung cancer at 55 this past September. She was a second mother to not only myself, but to almost everyone in the family. She lived with us, and died with us.
Welcomed a new Niece to the family, and watched another move away.
The last few years have been sobering as hell.
But I've got strong shoulders, and I survive.
