Oh, My Booger: a sonnet in the traditional style
Oh my booger that is so slimy green
You were just right here, now where have you gone?
I blew you out, but the tissue is clean
I just do not know what could have gone wrong!
How forlorn you must be, so far from home
Without your friends who are so boogery.
Are you frightened out there all on your own,
Away from the nose where life's sugary?
I've searched high and low, and all in between,
I've searched here and there, looked both near and far.
I'm never at ease with my nose so clean;
You could be stuck to the front of a car!
Oh my booger, where you are, no one knows--
Well there you are on the tip of my nose!
ETA: I should add here that I wrote this for my Writing for Children and Young Adults course. I bet that this is the first sonnet to a booger ever. EVER! I own.
