This is a meme stolen from
anesidorian who stole it in turn from
geek_among_men, who probably stole it from all the cool kids so me starting it now is like wearing Hammerpants in 1995. Anyhoo. Here's an artificial way to increase my LJ posting frequency.

Day 1: Very First Anime
There are actually three answers to this question.
The Littl' Bits
Once upon a time, a more innocent time where anime was an unknown but at least I could find Japan on a map, there was a rather insipid show on NickJr called "The Littl' Bits". I watched it a bit, though by the time it aired I was beginning to leave the age group this show targeted. I didn't figure out it was an anime for years, years, years later. Since I don't remember what the show was about at all, besides apparently featuring little tiny fairy-elf things in a forest, I'm not certain if this counts as a "first anime".
Ronin Warriors
When I was considerably older, the first anime show on Cartoon Network's Toonami block that I watched was "Ronin Warriors", known in Japanese as Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. Some of the voices were lame. Some of the voice-actors changed randomly. But it was really cool, and made more sense than my previous flirtation with
magical armor shows. However, I just thought it was a regular old cartoon with stylized animation. I didn't realize it was "anime" yet.
I watched Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z and still didn't make any connection. Finally, Toonami unveiled the neatest of their original four anime.
New Mobile Report Gundam Wing
This is the first anime that actually introduced me to the world of anime fandom. Before, they were just neat cartoons. With Gundam Wing's arrival, it was so fucking cool I had to find more about it online. This, of course, led me to find out about my other anime shows online, too. But the point is, while this wasn't my first anime show, this was my first "oh my god it's anime" show. So, yeah.
It's kind of stupid for me to begin this meme today since this weekend I'll be going to a cabin filled with booze, my boyfriend and his friends, and absolutely no responsibilities. But I'll post the days I miss on Monday, if I don't get to it before then. :D
